Bill W.'s telephone call from the Mayflower Hotel to Reverend Tunks eventually led him to Henrietta Seiberling who was living in the gatehouse of the Seiberling estate.  The daughter-in-law of the founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Henrietta was a nonalcoholic and a close friend of Dr. Bob's wife Ann; it was she who had introduced Bob and Ann to the Oxford Group.  She and other Group members had been praying for guidance on Dr. Bob's seemingly insurmountable drinking problem, so when Bill called saying he had a solution, she recognized that a Higher Power was at work and welcomed him warmly.  Getting Dr. Bob to come wasn't quite as simple, but the two founders met on Mothers Day in 1935 in this house.
